Just thought I'd fire up a few pics from a recent book I worked on. I had to provide illustrations of people who had made comments during the recent troubles in Ireland. Their quotes were contained within this compilation edited by Fergal Barr.
This is an 'I Am Legend' illustration I had to do for the latest issue of Verbal magazine, based on the book rather than the recent film. Ol' Robert Neville is looking a bit psycho lurking about, dodging the creeps.
Asked to do an image for a skateboard as part of a surprise present for a mate. He likes military stuff hence the soldier. I was trying to think of something to write on it so I settled on 'time to hunt' as it is the name of one of the mighty Stephen Hunter's books.
I've been informed that men call it babysitting even when the child is our own, but it should be just watching the baby/wee man/wain. Women, eh? After a cocky beginning to my debut solo 'babysitting' session, reality soon reared it's ugly head.
I'm artist-in-residence in the Verbal Arts Centre, Derry, N.Ireland. We promote and teach about comics and comic art, as well as organising the Northern Ireland Comics Festival, 2D.
